Whilst I was searching for decades for a single CD555 some machines showed up at second hand shops this year. “Relatively” of course, speaking in numbers – the fourth.
Two weeks ago a good one showed up at eBay and got sold for about 115€ in UK. Well, not so interesting for Europeans, considering the high transportation costs of 46€ and additional import-tax of 20% (in Austria). The overall conditions looks fine, congratulations to the buyer. As the machine is as usual dead, it needs some repair. According to the pictures it seems some voltages at the power supply are broken.
Another one is currently on sale in Austria (willhaben.at), but in such a bad condition I would not recommend to buy it at the requested price of 80€. This one should better be used as spare parts. Have a look at the pictures below – the bent handle bar(!) and the various screws at the rear side with the missing heat sink do not look very promising. Expect some surprises inside. However, if you need spare parts – go for it.
